Laine Napoli was The Des’ Social Media and Marketing Intern for Fall 2021. Laine is from southern New Jersey and is studying multi-platform journalism and women, gender and sexuality studies at the University of Maryland. Laine is passionate about social justice, human rights and criminal justice reform.  As a journalist, her goal is to write stories that inspire people to be better informed and more empathetic. Laine is also the Copy Chief of Her Campus Maryland and was formerly the Social Media Director of the publication. She is also a freelance writer for The Diamondback, Meditation 4 Leadership and The Anchora. When Laine is not writing and creating content for The Des she can be found trying the newest makeup hack, scoping out vegan restaurants, spending time on the beach or attempting to train her puppy, Lola.
